I'm a computer software engineering student (second year), and I'd like to find a job. I live near a big city (boston, 6+million) and am right at the intersection of three relatively large suburbs. I can go to work at practically all of the places posted on craigslist. I don't even think I'm that picky, I'd go to any paying job or any internship in computers (paying or not). Why is no one contacting me?
I know how to write in HTML, do basic computer stuff, I know how to use linux. I have a car. I can get a reference from a summer volunteering at my library. It's so frustrating that everyone says there are so many computer related jobs, and I can't get any of them! If you would like my standard resume, just email me.
I've gone to a couple employment agencies, and my local mall, and two local computer stores. Still nothing. How do I find a job or internship? Or is the competition too fierce, am I too uneducated and young? Is my lack of previous work killing me?How can I find an internship on craigslist?
You aren't going to find internships on craigslist, most of the jobs listed there are scams. You need to speak with your school placement office. Every internship I had during college was listed in our university placement office
